What is Bark Aid?
When dog lovers unite, great things happen, that’s why Bark Aid offers the chance for owners everywhere to come together and help animals in need.
The online dog show lets people like you enter photos of your adorable pooch into a series of twelve categories where the winners will be picked by a panel of judges including Andrea McClean from Loose Women and Danni Menzies from Channel 4’s a Place In The Sun!
With plenty of prizes up for grabs, you can have fun while knowing you’re helping to raise money for three incredible causes, Wild At Heart Foundation, Thin Blue Paw Foundation, and Greenacre Rescue.
Bark Aid isn’t just a dog show though, it’s a great way to lift community spirits and celebrate the canine companions we share our lives with.
Why is Animal Friends supporting Bark Aid?
The last year and a half has been strange for us all, but at least we had our pets by our side helping guide us through the challenges we might have faced. We want to celebrate the support our pets have given us over the last 18 months and in honour of their unconditional love we want to give back to charities that support animals just like them both at home, in service and abroad.
Rescue centres and animal charities have been significantly impacted during the pandemic due to the various lockdowns and restrictions of the pandemic. During that time, we’ve seen an influx of funding requests from charities who have seen a drop in their income and have struggled to fundraise in ways they’re used to. Being able to support these charities through these tough times has been a privilege but there is always more that can be done to help.
When does Bark Aid start?
Entries open 14th September 2021 and close on the 11th October 2021 with all entries being judged within a few days of the closing date.
The final results will be announced LIVE via Facebook and Instagram on the 22nd October. This will subsequently be posted on Dog Furiendly’s website and Facebook page and the winner of each class will be notified by email.
How can I get involved?
If you’d like to enter the online dog show, all you have to do is pick a category (or two!) and pay an entry fee of £2 per category. You can also choose to make a bigger donation if you wanted to. Terms and conditions of entry apply.
If we all lend a helping paw then together we can change lives and make a real impact to those who need it the most.
