Time Limited cat insurance

Covers vet fees for accidents, illness and conditions for a limited period of time only.

What our Time Limited policies cover

Our Time Limited policies cover each new condition for 12 months from the date your cat first shows any signs or symptoms – as long as you renew your policy.

Once you reach your limit – or after 12 months, whichever comes first – you will not be able to claim for that condition again but you may be able to claim for other conditions.

The policy has two different limits on how much you can claim in a year. For each condition or illness you can claim up to the condition limit you choose. You can claim for multiple conditions in each year, but there is an annual limit on the total you can claim for.

Here is an example of a Time Limited policy with a condition limit of £2,000 and annual limit of £7,000.

You claim £2,000 vet fees for treatment for your cat’s heart disease, £2,000 for the removal of a tumour and £2,000 for a skin condition and £1,000 for an eye ulcer, all of this could be covered because it is less than the £7,000 annual limit and no claim goes over the £2,000 condition limit. If there was another claim for any amount, it wouldn’t be covered because it would be over the annual £7,000 limit.

Pet insurance premiums increase as your pet gets older, as the chance of your pet becoming ill increases. Excesses apply to all our policies and a co-payment is currently payable on claims if you renew your policy after your cat turns 10 years old.

Has your cat been to the vet for anything other than routine vaccinations?

If your cat has been unwell or was injured before, this is known as a pre-existing condition. Pre-existing conditions aren't covered by our policies.

We consider a condition to be pre-existing if it was first noticed before your policy start date or within the waiting period, whether your cat needed treatment previously or not.
